Who we are
Smart Shopping is a multinational Retail technology start-up, founded in Thessaloniki,
Greece in 2021. In its first year it acquired utility patents and raised international funding
from Angel investors in U.S., Germany, U.K., U.A.E., India, Singapore, Italy and Brazil. Its
goals for 2022 are to complete successful pilots in Greece and accelerate international
expansion.
Our development stack is based on Firebase. Our application data is stored in Firestore,
Realtime Database and Cloud Storage. We use Angular for our web app the development
and Flutter for our mobile front end. We are investing a heavily in proprietary AI and NLP
solution (using Python) as well as text search with various technologies (such as Elastic
stack).
What we are looking for
We are searching for a talented, motivated, and very enthusiastic Software Developer to
join our multinational team and drive its growth from a dynamic start-up to a tech unicorn!
She/He will have a major role in our product development lifecycle, from back-end design,
to realization, to release and long-term support.
Responsibilities
- Web and back-end software design and development
- Production of quality code, focusing on readability & maintainability and then on
performance - Manage backend development roadmap and backlog
Requirements
- Confidence in asynchronous JavaScript code (or ideally TypeScript)
- At least 1 year of professional or personal experience in one of the following:
Firestore or Realtime Database, a web app framework (ideally Angular), SQL - Analytical and practical thinking
- English language at Business and Technical level
- Optional: Experience with RxJS -Experience with NodeJS
- Optional: Experience with other NoSQL databases
- Optional: Experience with RESTful APIs
- Optional: Experience in version control using Git (ideally with GitHub)
- Optional: Experience with/ understanding of search engines/ text search (Elastic
stack or similar) - Optional: Experience with/ understanding of Python programming language,
Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing
